How can I be stylish in a conservative work place?

I’m going to start a new job next week. It’s a marketing/office job. And everyone is basically wearing only suits and ties and it’s like working on capitol hill in DC. BTW i live in DC. I don’t really have a lot of business clothes my style is very retro,hip-hop, global, mixed with hippish style and I wear bold neon colors and prints and lots of accessories. The outfit I wore to my interview was a risk itself. I had on a pink knee-high flowy skirt with white flowers and a white blouse with gladiator sandals. How can I go to work looking stylish yet conservative?
Well, my hair is in long braids. I guess I’l but a cute headband or something

Allways go with the hair. its what people notice the most. mostley if your sitting behind a desk all day. lol try something like a cute hair cut or something. lol that works.

Oh man, it looks like you are going to have to buy a whole new wardrobe. Sucks, doesn’t it?

Don’t you have any button up shirts? Even if they are flowery, if the skirt matches, I think that’d be fine. Maybe the place needs YOU to spice it up! =)

Stylish on the weekend is different than stylish at work. There’s no reason you can’t dress with style at the office.

The hair is a biggie–something trendy and shorter would probably be very eye-catching, maybe with some dynamic highlights…if you don’t want to go the hair route, I’d invest in some cute blazers and slacks–try going for a dark grey or black, maybe some pinstripes, and have a few bright accessories you can swap throughout the work week to just add a little more flair. If you like skirts, pencil skirts are the most conservative I can recommend while still looking sophisticated–they end around the knee, but there’s a ton of neat, subtle style varieties depending on where you shop.
Again, for the bulk of the outfit, you should rely on conservative colors–black, white, varying shades of grey, and navy. Patterns probably won’t be too easy to work in without getting too flashy, but like I said earlier, a few good accessories–jewelry, or scarves, or something like that–could add a nice little kick to the look :)

Well if you are trying to keep your personal style keep plenty of accessories. Have your earring and bracelets and make sure that they at least some what match. Try to avoid any overly hip-hop jewelry. Wear your hair in a way that stands out but not to much and try to be original. If you see all the women wearing suite coats and the matching skirts you need to find you some pretty black slacks and a top that is is elegant and don’t go to crazy with the color you probably wouldn’t want to show up at work in a “loud” neon T-shirt

first you need to start with the basics
black, you need like 3 -5 black skirts and pants 2 -3 different kinds of blouses and that way you can mix and match and not spend so much money on clothes. Everytime you get paid, buy 2 new shirts and 2 new skirts and /or pants. By the end of the month, you should have your whole wardrobe by the end of the month :)
