Well I have gone to private school all my life and next year I’m going to a public school. I love fashion and I don’t care if I stand out,but I don’t want to be ridiculed. I usually wear high waisted printed skirts, dresses lots of tights, and heels at my school right now. I don’t want to change my clothes and style for a bunch of people I don’t even care about their oppinions, but I don’t want to be little miss I’m to good for everybody else so I’m going to try to be as different as possible. I know high schoolers ususally wear jeans and a t-shirt, but I don’t want to dress like that at all, So my question is can a dress sorta kinda fancy for high school
yes. as long as you don’t care you can. =]
Many people at my school wear things like what you wear, so they don’t stand out or look odd. And anyways, many people have different styles of dressing so if you like to dress fashionably, then dress fashionably. I often wear heels with dark jeans and a blouse or heels, skirts, a necklace, a nice tank, and a cardigan to high school and I’m fine with that and people dress similarly to me too.
well I wouldn’t wear a real fancy dress cause of possible mishaps but if its not prom fancy and more along the line of semi-casual it should be ok
Semi-Fancy is fine, especially for girls. As long as you don’t go around in a prom dress every day, you should be fine. People mind their own business clothing-wise.
dressy shirts
dress pants if you want
you could wear like kitty heels and like flats if you like
and more like summer dresses and sort of plain dresses if you don’t want to seem all princessy or whatever
I completely understand how you feel! I care a lot about clothes and fashion too. And when I was in high school I tended to dress a little more “fancy” than most of the other girls. Everyone was in jeans and a hoodie while I was in a skirt and a cardigan or blazer lol It’s still that way for me in college.
Sometimes it felt awkward and a few people thought I was stuck up, but who are they to jugde! I wasn’t stuck up and it was just more fun for me to dress nicely. Fashion is fun!
So my advice to you is to keep dressing the way you are now! Your style sounds awesome and if anyone has anything bad to say about it they are either jealous or intimidated.
Good luck!
I’m in LA, and generally the kids at the public schools tend to dress up more than the (wealthy) kids at the private prep schools. Having your own style is good — work it!
