Is it ok to wear a navy top with print navy skirt to casual outdoor afternoon summer wedding. Is navy ok?

   Sounds like you are going to a picnic. But usually outdoor, afternoon weddings are casual, so it sounds ok.

   I’m not sure about the hood – it depends on what the top is made of, I think — a linen hoodie versus a fleece hoodie…

   But, the colour is good, and the outfit should hit a good casual-respectful balance.

   Navy is fine for weddings. It usually looks smart whether the style is simple or complex.

   I wore a long plain navy skirt and a short sleeved top in navy with white spots and white collar and cuffs to my best friend’s wedding. It looked smart and I felt well dressed.

   so yes, go with navy.

   sounds CASUAL, not INFORMAL, and there’s a difference. If the dress code is truly casual, it should be okay… it doesn’t sound like a tank top or T-shirt so it should be okay for casual.

   All sounded fine until you mentioned the hood. That might make it look overly casual.

   Navy, though, isn’t a problem at all.
