I have purchased a skirt (very cheaply, thrifted) for my Halloween costume. I need to shorten it and am also hoping to add pleats to it. Is it possible to add pleats to a skirt that’s already been sewn together, without messing up the waistline? And if so, how do I do this?

I have a lovely hot pink silk skirt that I gentle washed with woolite and it turned out with whit splotches on it. It looks like the color was removed from those areas, rather than it being stained.
Can I dye the entire skirt and have it come out an even color? or will the white area remain a lighter shade? I love this skirt and it was pricey, how can I fix it?

I’m looking for a school-appropriate green tartan plaid skirt, preferably pleated, nice quality. Actually if certain uniformed private schools sold their skirts to general public that’s what I would buy. I googled, amazoned, and ebayed it but all I can find are slutty costumes or sizes way too big. (I’m something inbetween a 0 and a 2 petite). Any ideas?

My school uniform skirt is really bad on windy days and it flies up a lot =/ I’ve been told that you can put weights into a skirt so it doesn’t fly up? How can I do this without ruining my skirt?

And my skirt is a pleated kilt-wrap skirt if that helps.
