What top should I wear with a black satin pleated front skirt?

I have a black satin skirt that is pleated in the front (sort of like a school girl uniform), what material top should I wear with it? I want it to be black so I can add color with my shoes and accessories.
Someone suggested a black lace top… It is for my birthday party so of course I want my outfit to be amazing 
what about a plain, fitted black tanktop?
a simple black shirt with thin straps would be great if you’re going for a casual look.
however, for the party, i would go with a ruffle shirt
so it won’t scream RUFFLES
the ruffles will look so elegant b/c it’s black
plus, ruffle shirts are cute & flirty and goes with a lot of accessories.
